A few days ago I posted a story about a video shoot I was privileged to direct out in the boonies. It was truly a memorable experience.

Since then, we’ve spent the rest of the week shooting several other people in their own settings and we’ll continue to do so through late tonight. Each person has a unique story that represents a colorful snapshot into the wonderful diversity of God’s Kingdom.

So far, production has gone extremely well and there are several reasons for that. But, one major factor for great video is having a well planned and creative driving concept. When the concept is solid, everything else flows around it and just seems to fall in place.

You should pay the price to refine your concepts and call timeout if everyone is not on the same page with you.

It’s a tremendously important aspect of video production that will carry your projects through seamless completion and enable your stories to resonate with those who view them. Simple, but true.

Today’s post was written by Kerry Bural, the principal of The Resonate Group, http://resonategroup.com, a church and ministry brand consulting and development firm. Kerry blogs at Ministry Marketing Coach, http://ministrymarketingcoach.com. You can follow him on Twitter @KerryBural

Re: Concept is King for Interesting and Effective Video Production

This is so true. Too many times, we've had clients wanting to do a video "because they can" or because they think they should. However, no thought has been given to the concept at all. Any producer worth his/her salt will push their client to determine their vision, purpose, concept before proceeding. If they don't, they'll pay for it in the end! Poor video, poor results!

Special thanks to our good friend, Kerry Bural for today's post. Kerry has helped us with our vision at oneMISSION.tv and hopefully we can help you with yours!
